Commune Tea

We have been fortunate to work with our friends at Landscape Products in Japan for several years now, and they have always introduced us to the wonderful treasures and talented artisans from their homeland. While on one of our routine trips, we stopped in Kagoshima and visited a beautiful tea shop, called Susumuya Cha-ten. Kagoshima is famous for Japanese teas, and Susumuya’s founder, Kotaro Shinbara comes from a family of tea vendors who have been working with the leaves for decades.

Working in collaboration with Susumuya, we’ve created our own unique blend of green tea; made with sencha, sage, peppermint, and lemon peel. This herbaceous, citrus forward blend is both Japanese and Californian in flavor, with its roasted sencha roots and sage-y scent. Each sip brings us back to our many special visits to Japanese tea houses, but also reminds us of home. Sixteen individual sachets are packaged in a paper wrapped tin container, made in Japan. Shop our new tea here.

Along with pictures of our new tea, find some inspiration and our development process for the packaging below.
