Ace Hotel and Swim Club

Concept and design for Ace Hotel located in Palm Springs, California. This was our first and most lasting collaboration with Ace. It included the conversion of a 1950’s Howard Johnson’s motor lodge into a communal desert experience including a lobby, 180 guest rooms, two pool areas, a freestanding event space, restaurant and bar. The concept incorporated the work of a long list of local artists and artisans and was inspired by national parks, desert road movies from the 70’s and the TV series M.A.S.H.
